The 4 Pillars of the JET Programme
Bolster Foreign Language Education
ALTs work in schools across Japan to strengthen foreign‑language education by assisting with instruction and increasing opportunities for students to use practical language skills.
Promote International Exchange
CIRs support community‑level internationalisation by planning international events, assisting foreign residents, and promoting multicultural understanding in local government offices.
Foster Mutual Understanding Between Japan and the World
Participants deepen mutual understanding between Japan and other countries by experiencing Japanese society firsthand and sharing those experiences internationally.
Cultivate Globally-Minded Individuals
The programme cultivates globally‑minded individuals by providing immersive intercultural experiences that build skills in communication, education, and international exchange.
